TREATMENT SERVICES

First Step Recovery Centers is a non-profit corporation licensed by the State of Tennessee Department of Mental Health.  Located at 1950 Madison Ave FSRS is in the heart of midtown Memphis.  FSRC is in close proximity to the downtown medical area which includes the MED, the VA Hospital, and the Memphis Mental Health Institute, it is also accessible by the MATA Bus line.The presence of these facilities provides FSRC clients the opportunity to access other needed services.

FSRC provides the following treatment services:

Intensive Out-Patient Treatment for adult men and women.  Co-occurring disorder treatment addresses both addiction & mental health disorders as part of a comprehensive care package. 
We offer:

  1. •Three group classes per week, each class lasting 3 hours

  2. •Individual follow-up sessions with professional counselors

  3. •Shorter group sessions as treatment progresses

  4. •With second DUI, treatment may be substituted for time in jail depending on the sentence by a judge.  

  5. •Intensive Out-Patient Hours:  Mon., Tues., & Thurs. 6-9 pm, Mon., Wed.,  & Fri. 10am-1pm & 4- 7 pm


Sober Living Housing because FSRC partners with Mid South Sober Living we can offer available sober living housing.   Having a safe and sober living environment is beneficial for individuals who are new in recovery.

Alcohol and Drug Safety School is a 12-hour program using the State of Tennessee approved “Prime for Life” curriculum. 


  1. •Basic knowledge concerning biological, social, and psychological factors on behavior and risk-taking

  2. •Provides common sense guidelines for avoiding negative consequences of over-indulgence

  3. •Meets court requirements for DUI sentencing conditions

  4. •Learn how alcohol and drugs affect your life and influence decisions

  5. •Discover the risks and consequences of alcohol & drug use

  6. •Understand the relationship of family history and personal decisions to addiction

  7. •Develop life-skills to avoid negative consequences of alcohol and drug use

  8. •Learn about the four phases of abuse leading to addiction

  9. •Learn how to avoid problems with alcohol

  10. •Flexible class schedules to meet the demands of family and work

  11. •Certificate of Completion is provided to reinstate driver’s license

  12. •State of Tennessee approved Certificate of Completion issued after successfully meeting the   requirements of the course
